Dear Fellow Lightarians,
Table
salt vs Organic Sea Salt, Neuro-Linguistic Programming,
welcoming ET connections into our lives...we aim to explore what
is new or old and how to embrace it all in a new way.
Expand and stretch.

Struggle? It is all a matter of perspective; let us open
to another view on something that we are all too familiar with.
Vivienne's Crystal Blessings is always a regular favorite.
In this newsletter, Vivienne explores using Kyanite in cutting
cords with the aid of Ascended Master Michael. We continue
to strive to reach our full potential in the LIGHT.
As you
embrace what is to follow, always know that your feedback is
gratefully accepted. If there is something that you wish
to have us explore, we would love to hear from you. In
future issues, we will be exploring the differences in being
Empathic vs. Channeling and how to gain the best of both.
As always, it is with
deep appreciation and joy that I share the following with you.

The Power of Intent: Struggle
by Jodi A. Zeramby
I
have long wondered why we must experience suffering.
How is it that such experiences make us stronger, wiser,
and more interesting? Heartbreak, struggle, set-backs,
upheavals, disappointments—most humans must come to
terms with these types of events. Tears are shed,
hearts emptied, eyes become opaque, frown-lines more
pronounced. These trials and tribulations may cause a
person to barricade the heart and mind from further
anguish. Yet, if a person can adapt, process, and
progress after such life events, if she can allow
herself to be vulnerable again, that person has the
opportunity to soar into happiness.
Perhaps, suffering makes living life more worthwhile because
we can recognize and appreciate the bright, happy moments
when they come. Perhaps. I must admit that I struggle with
struggle. At times, I have resisted it, making it more
pronounced. I have tried to distance myself from struggle,
making it that much harder to accept when I have found
myself embroiled in conflict yet again. I understand on a
conceptual level that it is natural to wish to avoid
struggle. And, I have even learned that facing struggle
directly deflates its power over me.
Yet, there are times when I feel I cannot seize a piece of
peace, when no matter what I do, life provides no rest for
the weary. For all my high ideals, for the strides I have
taken, the struggles I have endured, the heartbreak I have
survived, sometimes, sometimes, it seems as if merely
existing is onerous—an uphill battle where I try to pull
myself up the precipice, hand over hand, grasping at the
small indentations in life that may crumble at any given
moment. As I stretch and groan, attempting to pull my heavy
soul up toward some elusive peak, I look around and see
others struggling just as painstakingly as I am—my
comrades-in-arms, my spiritual brethren. As they continue
to move, so do I, oh, so slowly. At those times, I focus on
each moment—it is all that exists—each foot plodding
forward, body swaying, hands clutching purposefully onward
and upward.
I wonder as I struggle up life’s incline whether others
sport painful blisters as I do, if they feel the fatigue as
deeply as I do, if they try to catch every sweet breath
while cursing each breath. Miraculously, as I strive to
reach the summit, sometimes by walking uphill backwards or
sideways since at those times it is too painful to stride
forward, I am able to rest with groups of people on their
own journeys—taking comfort in their understanding,
understanding borne of their own, similar struggles.
Towards the top I see people who not only reached their
goals, but have returned down the mountain to cheer us on,
me on, as we keep going, using inner reserves we knew not
existed until that moment. And, so life becomes that much
sweeter, more profound, more meaningful as we overcome
whatever life throws at us. We feel a sense of
accomplishment for not giving up. We feel pride for the
hard-earned understanding that we have acquired, enabling us
to make our way through this world. Our experiences create
clarity by helping us to know just how precious life is. Our
experiences provide us with an inherent understanding of
other people and their struggles, bringing us closer to
them. We connect. We are not alone. I can’t help
wondering, though, wouldn’t it be more pleasant if all could
connect through purely positive, joyful experiences?
I have realized that we struggle in order to expand. Such
experiences cause us to stretch and grow, to step outside
the comfort zone. As we do, we evolve. This process of
spiritual expansion, of meeting challenges, of finding ways
to survive (if not excel) creates new life patterns—new ways
of living and viewing life—while releasing patterns that no
longer serve us.
Not every struggle is a negative experience. In fact, some
are wonderful opportunities to reaffirm our courage,
strength, intellectual muscle, or ethical construct. We
create these scenarios with the choice of rising to the
challenge or giving up. Sometimes, we choose to walk away
from the struggle because we feel unable or unwilling to
stretch. Other times, we not only meet the challenge, but
exceed our best expectations of success. Michelangelo said,
“The greatest danger for most of us is not that we aim too
high and we miss it, but we aim too low and reach it.” The
pure joy when reaching that high aim is a thousand times
more potent than the feeling of failure. So isn’t the
knowledge that we dared to try, that we allowed ourselves to
be so very vulnerable. Whether a person succeeds in a given
endeavor or falls short, the measure becomes how much of
herself she has applied toward the challenge, and her
reaction to the outcome.
So, there is hope. As we experience these struggles, we
have the opportunity to release patterns that no longer
coincide with our desires. We create new ways of being—new
beliefs, new actions, new thoughts. And, we learn from each
experience, regardless of the outcome.
We’ve all heard the saying, “Nothing is certain in life but
death and taxes.” Benjamin Franklin should have added
change to that list. Isn’t it interesting how many people
resist change? Some strive to live the same life day in and
day out for comfort’s sake. How can one grow by living a
monotonous life? I have begun to embrace change, and it is
heartening to find that by doing so, struggle dissipates
exponentially. But, no, I am not being entirely honest.
Sometimes I do not embrace change. I am afraid of the
unknown. I want to know what the next day will bring, to
have the reassurance that only I will introduce a change
into my life. Realistically, though, whether the change
occurs through an external or internal force, it all stems
from my reality and my choice. Consciously or
subconsciously, I have given permission for the change to
occur. Otherwise, I would not attract that change. With
this in mind, I am learning that I do not need to know
everything about my future to enjoy the experience.
In Our Town, Act III, Emily asks the Stage Manager,
“Do any human beings ever realize life while they live
it?—every, every minute?” No, we don’t. We do not gaze at
everything and everyone around us and value all that life
presents. Most do not make an emotional connection to the
ordinary daily activities. Too many lack any sense of
wonder at what passes before their eyes every day. We waste
great opportunities, mostly due to not being present, not
being in the moment. Or, we pull back from life because of
fear. We look ahead and behind, not appreciating the moment
at hand.
Some people fear change because they do not know what to
expect. This prevents them from enjoying life. Is it
absolutely necessary to know what lies ahead? I heard a
great metaphor that goes like this:
Say you know that you are traveling from California to New
York by car. You have your route mapped out. As you drive,
you can only see so far up ahead, a few hundred feet at
best. Since you cannot see the entire route while you
travel it, you must have faith that as long as you stick to
your plan, you’ll get to your destination.
Here’s my addition to the metaphor:
Now, wonder if there’s some construction occurring which
detours your travel plans? You may decide to travel on a
parallel route and intercept with the original route as soon
as you can. Or, you might take that opportunity to change
your route entirely. It depends on your comfort level for
embracing change versus your motivation for reaching your
planned goal.
What happens if you reach New York, only to find that you do
not feel that sense of elation and completion once you
arrive? Is this why the journey can be more important than
the end result? Is this why stretching to realize life
every, every minute may be a worthier goal? Because, if we
are always looking toward the completion of our grandiose
goals, we might miss some wonderful adventures along the
way, don’t you think? We may be so focused that we do not
allow ourselves to veer off the path, and through that
constriction, we may unwittingly deprive ourselves of some
wonderful opportunities. And, why do we do that? Why do we
hold ourselves so closely to the plan? Do we fear the
unexpected, the unknown, the unimagined? After all, what’s
so bad about unanticipated situations—isn’t that why we are
here? To experience life? The bottom line is that we
create our realities. We create every positive and negative
event in our lives. Therefore, if I do not absolutely
believe that I will live the outcome I seek to attain, I
will not. No matter what words I spout, it is the inner
dialogue that creates my reality and forges my future. For
each day, my reality is as luscious as my imagination.

Alchemy of Nutrition:
Table Salt vs. Organic Sea
Salt
by Linda Meneses, Certified Health Educator,
USA and Portugal
In
our quest for health it is very important for us to
understand the difference between table salt and organic
(unrefined) sea salt. Salt and sodium are used
interchangeably but this is not correct. Salt is sodium
chloride which is 40% sodium and 60% chloride by weight.
These two minerals need to be in a constant dynamic balance
for they get nutrients and waste across the cell membrane.
If there is too much or too little of these two minerals the
permeability of cell membranes is compromised and therefore
intra- and extra-cellular pressure. Salt is necessary for
fluid balance, electrolyte balance and pH (acid/alkaline)
balance. It also is necessary to the production of
hydrochloric acid which is the digestive enzyme secreted by
the stomach to break down protein. Along with potassium,
salt is required for the proper function of nerves and
contraction of muscles. It is important to the absorption
of potassium. And it also enhances the ability of the blood
to carry carbon dioxide from respiring tissues to the
lungs. So it is easy to see that salt is essential to
health but not all forms of it are healthy.
It is well known that excessive salt
contributes to the development of high blood pressure.
According to recent studies it is also associated with
strokes, calcium deficiency and osteoporosis, fluid
retention, weight gain, stomach ulcers and stomach cancer.
Yet reducing sodium too much can be just as harmful as
consuming large amounts of it. Too little can cause spasms,
poor heart rhythms, sudden death and even increase the risk
of heart attack in hypertensive patients. Beside the salt
consumed in processed foods, we should be aware that our
skin is very efficient at absorbing salt from salt softened
water. And of course drinking this salt softened water
elevates sodium levels.
Commercial table salt used in our food and to soften water
is the furthest thing from ideal. During the refining of
table salt, natural sea salt or rock salt is stripped of
more than 60 trace minerals and essential macro-nutrients.
This salt is stripped of all its minerals (beside sodium and
chloride) and heated at such high temperatures that the
chemical structure of the salt changes. In addition, it is
chemically cleaned and bleached and treated with anti-caking
agents which prevent salt from mixing with water in the salt
container. Unfortunately the anti-caking agents perform the
same function in the human body, so refined salt does not
dissolve and combine with the water and fluids present in
our system. Instead it builds up in the body and leaves
deposits in organs and tissue, causing severe health
problems like hyperthyroidism. Two of the most common
anti-caking agents used in the mass production of salt are
sodium alumino-silicate and alumino-calcium silicate. These
are both sources of aluminum, a toxic metal that has been
implicated in the development of Alzheimer's disease. The
aluminum used in salt production leaves a bitter taste, so
manufactures usually add sugar in the form of dextrose to
hide the taste of the aluminum. Refined sugar is associated
with the development of more than 60 diseases.
Whether
you consider the minerally unbalanced condition of table
salt, the anti-caking agents that prevent salt from doing
some of its most important jobs in the body, or the
chemicals and sugar that are added to it, table salt should
be avoided.
There is
an alternative to commercial table salt. Organic (unrefined)
sea salt contains minerals and trace minerals, good salts,
the body can use for many of the roles sodium plays.
Organic Sea Salt is harvested near the coast. Ocean water is
channeled into a series of clay-lined ponds. The wind and
sun evaporate the ocean water, leaving a mineral-rich brine.
This live mixture is briskly stimulated by the salt farmer,
and dazzling salt crystals form. This salt is then gathered
by hand using wooden tools. This harvesting method preserves
the vital balance of the minerals we need. Even many salts
labeled “sea salt” are washed or boiled, which removes
minerals and trace elements from the salt so look for
“organic” sea salt or Fleur de Sal which is the salt that
floats to the top of salt ponds crystallized by the sun. It
makes perfect sense that we depend on this mother mixture
for our health since life started in the briny ocean.

Healing
thru Neuro-Linguistic Programming
and
Lightarian™
Reiki
Monica Guberman Raza – Lightarian
Licensee, Brazil
As a clinical psychologist who
has always been interested in and involved with spiritual
studies, I find fascinating the possibility of combining
Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) and Lightarian™
Reiki. Once a new client comes to my practice, we usually
spend at least half an hour talking about what brought her
to
the
Reiki session, her expectations, and basic information about
the Lightarian Reiki and other healing modalities such as
Flower Essences and NLP. After the session is done, we share
the feelings, thoughts and perceptions experienced during
the session. I frequently use some of the NLP techniques
during this third phase of the process, helping my clients
integrate some of their insights. It seems that the
wonderful feelings of relaxation they feel help them to
enjoy even more the benefits of a NLP session that can be
done either the same day or in another opportunity.
Vanessa’s
mother called me some months ago, telling me she was very
concerned about her daughter, who had been showing symptoms
of bulimia for quite some time, and despite all the mother’s
efforts, the situation was getting worse and worse. Vanessa
and I had a brief conversation on the phone and she accepted
to come to my practice for a session. She looked very
unhappy and depressed; we established an excellent rapport
though. Since then, we have been basically working with some
deep emotional and sexual issues, related to a very low
self-esteem and strong difficulties with relationships in
general. As time passed by, she gradually got better and her
bulimia symptoms ceased. Vanessa is presently doing fine,
got a new job, made new friends and started dating someone
she really likes. One of the techniques I have used twice is
called “Parts Play”, where different ‘parts’ of oneself are
invited for a ‘meeting’, where they can express their
feelings and ideas, in order to either obtain valuable
information, or to help come to terms with some emotional
issues, reaching the point of getting an agreement between
‘parts’. Vanessa truly enjoyed both experiences and they
represented to her a turning point in the whole process. The
sessions with Lightarian Reiki were very helpful, providing
her a sense of relaxation, integration, harmony and balance,
which makes me think that the combination of both practices
has shown to be extremely rich and helpful.
We are going
through amazing and challenging times when the capacity of
healing emotional issues, finding mental balance and
bringing spirituality into our daily lives, have been some
of the major motivations for thousands of people around the
globe. Generally speaking, the majority of individuals who
have chosen to find more harmonious ways of existence, have
turned their eyes in the direction of new possibilities and
new avenues, that may lead them to a better understanding
about who they are and what their purpose in life is.
Individuals are becoming more aware than ever about the
importance of living a happy life, improving their
relationships and reaching a sense of accomplishment and
personal fulfillment. As a result, we have witnessed the
development of new theories and techniques that provide
people some very interesting tools. One of those techniques
is Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), developed in the
early 70’s by Richard Bandler and Joseph Grinder, in
association with Gregory Bateson. They observed that
successful people share some common characteristics in terms
of communication skills, rapport-building and
self-improvement that could be reproduced through certain
techniques. They were very much interested in how
communication could be effectively achieved, how people
could successfully influence one another and how people’s
behaviors could be changed in order to get the best out of
their possibilities in life.
NLP can be
better understood as a ‘toolbox of strategies and
techniques’ that helps people successfully amplify positive
behaviors, while diminishing negative ones, bringing to the
individual’s awareness, that all the necessary resources
within oneself are actually, already there. NLP has been
influenced by hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and human
potential movement and is based in the idea that rather than
perceiving the ‘real world as it is’, we construct our
reality through the filters of our belief systems, values
and assumptions, structuring what it is called our own ‘map
of the world’. NLP techniques have shown to be extremely
useful as therapeutic tools, but it is the possibility of
their use in our daily lives, that makes it even more
interesting.
Despite all
cultural differences, there’s something all individuals
share in common: they want to be understood and appreciated.
According to NLP this can be better achieved when a good
rapport is established during a conversation. Matching
gestures, posture and body language, increases the chance of
a successful communication. Also, there are some accessing
cues that can be easily observed, because they are very much
related to physiological aspects. Breathing pattern changes,
tonality and tempo changes and eye/head movements, provide
the listener some very interesting clues about how the
communication is being processed. Eyes movements, for
example, can be done either consciously or unconsciously. It
is interesting to observe that it is the unconscious aspect
of it what gives us some useful information about how the
person is processing his internal experiences. Looking up to
the right indicates the person is doing some kind of future
visualization. Looking up to the left, indicates the person
is ‘seeing’ visual images from the past. Looking to the
right at the level of one’s ears, indicates the person is
‘constructing’ sounds and words (composing a speech, for
example), while looking to the right indicates the person is
remembering familiar sounds and words. Looking down to the
right indicates the person is experiencing some kinesthetic
sensations, feelings and emotions, while looking down to the
left indicates an ‘internal dialogue’ is going on.
Despite the
fact that NLP might be controversial, not being accepted by
part of the scientific community as science because of lack
of validation, its techniques continue to be very helpful
for activities where communication skills are major tools,
even being used as an adjunct by psychotherapists and other
therapeutic disciplines with great success. The
NLP-Lightarian Reiki work that has been done with patients
like Vanessa, simply reinforces the idea that the more we
integrate different practices in our daily work, the better
for patients and clients. And that’s what really matters.
